NJ Roseti will present an architectural column at COLLECTIBLE New York alongside Caleb Ferris, each showcasing their unique interpretations of the form. Roseti's column contrasts ornate wood marquetry with synthetic, rectilinear elements, creating a dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and modern design. This juxtaposition invites viewers to reflect on the passage of time and the evolution of cultural values, illustrating how the influence of the past can inspire contemporary creativity. The piece serves as a bridge between seemingly opposing worlds, highlighting the interconnectedness of tradition and modernity.
With its synthesized distortions and classical wood techniques, NJ Roseti’s work carries the nostalgic futurism, technologic and religious undertones of new age music. He makes all his work in his shop with a combination of computer and hand-work which allows him to introduce that which often only exists behind a screen to the physical world. Many of his motifs are drawn from low fashion such as sleepwear, undergarments, and medical wear which serve the human experience and mark our time here on earth.
