Maxi Hoffmann

At COLLECTIBLE, she shows ceramic stools and side tables. These objects challenge the boundaries of traditional ceramics. They are built by hand over several days and fired at 1220 degrees, making the ceramic body extremely stable and durable. The organic shape, in combination with the brown glaze and its finish, reminds one of minimalistic tree trunks.

Under the name hap ceramics, Maxi Hoffmann has been crafting ceramic objects in Düsseldorf since 2017. As the daughter of a potter she gradually shifted her focus away from conventional functionality, immersing herself in the exploration of forms, surfaces, and the outer limits of glazes. This approach gives a sculptural essence to her creations, endowing each object with a distinctive character. In 2024 she will open her new studio in Berlin.
