Fefostudio & Kamilla Csegzi present "The Ephemeral Table," a collaborative project initiated by artist and chef Fernando Aciar and architect/designer Kamilla Csegzi, at COLLECTIBLE New York 2024. This project, which began at Ostudio in Brooklyn, explores the intersection of nature and design through the use of mycelium as a key material. The installation, part of a larger cycle running from Spring 2024 to 2025, features a mycelium table that serves both as a functional piece and as a mold for new creations, emphasizing the circularity of the process. In ACT II of the project, showcased at COLLECTIBLE, the table, stools, and glass objects—blown or cast into the voids of the table—capture the fleeting nature of the material and the evolving textures of the mycelium. This work challenges the perceived value of material culture by highlighting the transient, yet continually transforming, relationship between the natural and artificial, order and spontaneity.
