Emma Scully Gallery champions contemporary and historic collectible design. Located in an inviting Upper East Side residence, we present cutting-edge work in a rich, historical context, under the academic curation of Founder Emma Scully, a creative professional and scholar in art history, design and decorative arts. The gallery represents and supports the work of groundbreaking artists, designers, and craftspeople, and aims to answer the question of how design can gracefully move forward in today’s material society facing superabundance, the ecological cost of overproduction and the shift from the physical to the digital world. In promoting equity, the gallery recognizes the need to facilitate production in order to support the broadest range of talent in the design community. The gallery therefore acts as manufacturer for a portion of the collection work.
