Galerie REVEL is a contemporary design gallery with the focus of giving visibility to artists from the global south. Founded in 2021, the France-based gallery collaborates with emerging artists, designers and architects. Among the gallery's rising talents are emerging designers such as Aro Vega and Jan Ernst de Wet, whose work was exhibited at COLLECTIBLE Design Fair in June 2021 has met with great interest from collectors and the international press.
Galerie REVEL (Bordeaux) will present a group exhibition of emerging artists in two acts: Act I Creation of the Global South: Experimentation and Know-How. Some of these artists will be exhibited for the first time in Europe and on COLLECTIBLE. On the program, new collections - specially created for the fair - composed of light sculptures with organic shapes, surprising dimensions and intoxicating colors, resulting from long processes of research and experimentation by the designers Humberto da Mata (Brazil), Xanthe Somers (Zimbabwe) and Jan Ernst de Wet (South Africa). Act II: Decorative arts, know-how and traditions: The new collection of furniture by architect Aro Vega (Morocco - France), the hand-woven Kente textiles by Estelle Yomeda (Togo - France) and the first time revealed collection of furniture made of Wood marquetry by Anton Laborde (India - France) made from demanding techniques and know-how reinterpreted in a contemporary way.
